launch apprunner, load composer (via tasks menu). window is blank until resize.

windows is fine.  sujay or akkana, can you verify linux is ok?
assigning to simon on the theory it's mac only.  Sounds like an old mac bug that
was fixed several weeks ago, doesn't it?  cc all the editor mac heads.
On my linux build from today, the edit window paints right after it comes up, no
resize required.
Er, I just saw another bug like this go by today (bug 13438). It's the same view
manager problem. cc beard.
This is similar to bug #13438 which is still on my plate.  This seems more
generic than that bug.

Paul and I just tried it on Windows(10/18 build)....same problem
there....however,
resize doesn't get it to work like on Mac...
On Linux, editor works OK if you bring it up via File | New | Edit Blank Page,
however using Tasks | Editor brings up an editor window with only
New/Open/Save/Print/Find/Spell toolbar items and you can't type anything in.

Also, on Mac, I tried the resize...it doesn't get still doesn't work

Note: the problem which paulmac@netscape.com is describe above (having only a few
icons) is unrelated to this bug.  The current problem is that the Tasks menu is
opening a plaintext editor for both the html editor and the plaintext editor.
Using the File->New menu will bring up an html editor window.

this doesn't smell like an m11 blocker to me.  other thoughts?
I see some view strangeness in the browser window also.
I see it when I open up a simple web page on my local disk.
The editor window does come up for me, however the toolbar
buttons are invisible until you glide the mouse over it.
(this is a different problem though)

Editor does come up fine for me using 11/5 build. I'm looking
at the original bug report:

launch apprunner,

And I no longer experience this.

One other data point: if you edit an existing page, everything comes up
correctly. I'd bet this is an editor bug, and the path taken through the
editor is different if there is a document to edit.

Patrick--I don't think it has to do with a "different path" through the editor.

I have a bug for the editor-specific problem.  The editor problem appears tied to
the save button (opening an existing file disables the save button; opening a new
file enables the save button).  If the save button is always disabled (or
removed), the editor window will draw correctly.

I don't know how this relates (if at all) to the browser toolbar problems.

moving off the m11 radar. mark it fixed if things are working..

This is still a problem on MacOS. Windowshading the window causes a correct
refresh.

I see a complete window now when I create a blank one.
