From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.0rc2) Gecko/20020510 BuildID: 2002051006 I personally have no use for the sidebar and prefer to keep it parked on the left margin. However, whenever I click the back or forward buttons, it stubbornly opens up again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a page 2. Open another page 3. Click "back" Actual Results: See description Expected Results: I expect to navigate from page to page and back, at will, without having to close the sidebar each time. This (so far) has not caused a crash, just a general nuisance.
When this happens at search engines of various kind, like google (and bugzilla too for that matter) - it might be because you have a pref set to actually DO open the sidebar.. Check what's under preferences->Navigator->Internet Search There's a checkbox with text "Open the Search tab in Sidebar when search results are available". Is it checked? Does unchecking it help?
Ted, let us know if this solves your problem...if so, please mark this bug INVALID..
This was an oversight, I missed the item in preferences to not open the sidebar.
