If I hover over the link to one of the zip file at the URL :
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=23316&release_id=86556
for instance "hsqldb_1_7_0_RC5c.zip" The status bar implies that the URL
linked to is a file whose name ends in ".zip". If I "right click" on this link,
it offers me a "Save As" dialogue, however, the filename it chooses has ".html"
appended. The "Save as type" box has "Web Page, HTML only" in it and cannot be
changed. Ideally, it should spot that the file is a zip file. It would also
be nice if the "Sava as type" dialogue could be changed so that a BINARY download
could be forced. If I do the save as, the file is not saved correctly - perhaps
it has done an ASCII download? Whatever, the file is tiny and corrupt.

Above done using Mozilla Release candidate 2
do a left click and you get a page :
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/hsqldb/hsqldb_devdocs.zip
(this is a web page !)

choose the mirror and download...
