User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:59.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/59.0 Build ID: 20180323154952 Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Firefox for the first time. 2. Open a website that will play some sound. (Eg: Play a Youtube video.) 3. Go to Windows Volume Mixer, adjust the sound level to a sensible level. (Eg: 20%) 4. Some time later, open another tab, make it play another sound. 5. Hear the too loud volume. The volume setting for Firefox is reset to the maximum system volume level. Actual results: Somehow, the Windows Volume Mixer doesn't remember the previously set volume level for Firefox. It doesn't reproduce every time I open a new tab. But it certainly happens if I surf for at least two hours after last time adjusting the volume level. I couldn't find a recent bug report about this issue. But I could find some people complaining about this issue on the web. This is a serious bug and it can physically harm some people with sensible ears. It should be fixed as soon as possible. Windows Information: Edition: Windows 10 x64 Enterprise Version: 1709 OS Build: 16299.371 Expected results: Volume level of Firefox should have been remembered.

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:61.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/61.0 Build ID: 20180417225505 Hi Ahmed Han, I tried to reproduce the issue on latest Firefox 59.0.2. and latest Nightly (Build ID: 20180417225505) – Windows 10 x64 – without any success. After opening multiple youtube/twitch/vimeo tabs the sound volume in window’s volume mixer did not reset to 100%. However, the issue number linked to this report might be related and may aid in further investigations. Nils: Can you please confirm if this issue is a duplicate of Bug1407288?

> Can you please confirm if this issue is a duplicate of Bug1407288? Bug1407288 looks same with this one. However, that one says that the issue happen when Firefox is restarted. In my case, the issue happen without restarting Firefox. Waiting for two hours and opening a new tab with audio content triggers this bug.

Kinetik: this sounds to me like another e10s causes different volume levels across multiple processes. Or is this something else?
