1455064 - Add source_url field to Newsletter Signup template

The newsletter signup template has a Scene1, Scene2 configuration and doesn't use a hyperlink that can be tracked, so impression/click/block data is incomplete.

The FxA sign up/sign in snippet template also has Scene1, Scene2 configuration, but has fields for utm_term and utm_campaign for tracking. 

Please update the newsletter signup template to also have these fields.

the FxA template is posting data directly to accounts.firefox.com (which I suppose uses GA thus the utm_* fields). The newsletter signup template is using Basket, which in turn subscribes users to ExactTarget. GA is not part of this procedure and thus it's unclear what is the ask here. 

Can you please elaborate where do you expect to collect/see the utm_* information so we can draw a way forward?

Hi Giorgos, thanks for the update! If the newsletter signup template is sending data directly to Basket, then we would just need to add the source_url field to the request, so that new incoming subscribers can be attributed to the given snippet. In the past the source URL field for signup snippets was structured as snippets.mozilla.com/show/[[snippet ID]]. As long as the source_url field contains the snippet ID, any format would be acceptable.

Fixed in production. You should start seeing 'source_url' populated with snippet id.

Not until mid May, and it's for the Fx newsletter. 

The next Moz newsletter is scheduled for June, but I will pitch permission to let it run again in May on the premise of needing to test the fix.
