User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:59.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/59.0 Build ID: 20180327185825 Steps to reproduce: Right-click on “Search <Ctrl+K>” or “Filter these messages <Ctrl+Shift+K>” Actual results: Context menu shows without icons to the left of the text. Expected results: Context menu should show icons to the left of the text. Please add icons for: Undo, Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, Select All. These icons are showing in the Edit menu. If available, please add icons for: Convert to uppercase, Convert to lowercase. Thank you
This sounds familiar but Thunderbird 57 is quite old (6 months). Please report results with current version 60 from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel/ and started in safe mode.
(In reply to Wayne Mery (:wsmwk) from comment #1) Same results when using download of thunderbird-60.0b4.tar.bz2. This version also misses the icon for "Select All" when right-clicking in the message body.

This is code we use from Mozilla core. Also FX has no icons on this context menu (FX tends to remove all context menu icons). We don't plan to fix this.

(In reply to Richard Marti (:Paenglab) from comment #3) FX seems to be going for Chrome, where less is more. It is understood that FX is also removing mail specific code vital for TB. TB is growing to include not just mail, but calendar and improving contact management. TB seems to growing to be a complete personal information manager, where more is more. Current behavior in TB is that right-clicking in other areas has the icons in the contextual menu. Having an icon is also very convenient as you don't need to read all the text but just look for the icon that represents what one wants to do. Some cultures also operate with images, not text. Would you kindly plan to fix the bug reported so that the contextual menu shows icons? Thank you
