Bug 1455785 disabled Variable Fonts support after Early Beta in Firefox 61. We need to remove that condition from the prefs file in Firefox 62 so Fonts can ride the train all the way to Release.
Hi Jonathan, Can you land the patch to enable Variable Fonts by default this week?

Was there an intent to ship sent to dev-platform?
There was https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mozilla.dev.platform/MO2S2FepLPk/discussion (originally aimed at shipping in Fx61; later the decision was taken to hold off until Fx62).

Flagging for qe-verify as this is the bug that lets Variable Fonts support ride the train to release (Fx62). Note that the feature was already preffed on for Nightly, so this does not immediately change anything on the nightly channel, but it removes the condition so that the pref will not turn off automatically during beta.

I verified that the pref. for Variable Fonts is correctly set on Firefox Nightly 62.0a1 (2018-05-12) and on latest Firefox Nightly 63.0a1 (2018-07-15).
