I have managed to reproduce this issue on Latest Nightly 65.0a1 (Build ID 20181101100640) with Email Tabs experiment. It is an experiment that will be shipped on the Test Pilot platform this month. This issue affects multiple webextension and seems to be an old regression. Testing the mozregression tools I have managed to get a pushlog: https://tinyurl.com/y7sljqou. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to go further since there are very old builds. So probably one of the issues from the pushlog introduced this.
