The second test on the above page says that to: "...hit the Enter (or Return)
key to toggle between collapsing and expanding the Advanced parent category. "
It closes the window (like I hit "return" for "OK")

I do notice on one of my test machines that it looked like the expansion was
taking place before the window went away, but it happened very briefly. I did
not see this occur on the other OpenVMS machine I have or the Linux machine
either.

testing on rc2 builds: OpenVMS 20020513 and Linux 2002051009
Confirmed on Windows 98 SE. OS should be changed to 'all'.

My browser string: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US) Netscape6/6.1

For Windows, the + key on the numeric keypad is supposed to expand the top-level
subitems under an item, and * is supposed to expand all under that item. I also
watched it expand the tree list and then immediately close the window.

+ should be used on Windows, not enter. Enter always clicks the default button
('OK').
Hitting "+" or "*" doesn't expand/collapse the section either.

WFM:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.3a5pre) Gecko/20100507 SeaMonkey/2.1a1pre

Probably fixed during the migration to <prefwindow>
Forgot to actually resolve this as WFM
