The footer color scheme replaces the page's original background color of (255,255,255) with a darker (87,88,92), but retains the original hyperlink color. Unfortunately, the original hyperlink color is very difficult for me to read when overlaid on the darker background color. I checked with the WebAIM WAVE evaluation extension and it reports that the link color used here violates the minimum contrast accessibility guidelines — both on the white background *and* on the dark background. Please improve the contrast and readability of the hyperlinks in the footer by setting their color to a higher contrast choice when in the footer, and consider whether to alter the color selected for the white background areas as well. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/wave-accessibility-tool/ The specific warning from the addon is: Very low contrast between foreground and background colors. Text is present that has a contrast ratio less than 4.5:1, or large text (larger than 18 point or 14 point bold) has a contrast ratio less than 3:1 https://webaim.org/standards/wcag/checklist#sc1.4.3
Contrast repairs should also be considered for the yellow informative message bar at the top of the page, especially given the urgency of that bar when it's in use.
Thank you for this feedback. We are in the process of redesigning Mozillians.org and are therefore holding off from non-critical fixes. Regardless of this we are thankful for your feedback. Best regards, Henrik
