User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:59.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/59.0
Build ID: 20180323154952

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open a mail/message in a new window
2. Choosing menubar "More - show in tree of themes"

Actual results:

Nothing - the mail/message isn't show in tree of themes

Expected results:

open the mail/message in tree of themes
(like in die original view or after "open as new tab")
Something has gotten lost in translation here. What is "tree of themes"? Perhaps you mean "Open Message in Conversation". We speak German, so you can report the German menu item if you want.

In the submitted screenshot you are not using TB 60, the tabs are still rounded. TB 60 has square tabs.

I tried "Open Message in Conversation" in TB 60 and it works fine. Of course that feature only works if the folder is indexed using global search and indexing. Right-click the folder, Properties, check "Include messages in the folder in Global Search results".
Version: 60 → 52 Branch
Sorry for my terribal English...

Also:

p.s. Please pay attention to known and other issues noted in the beta release notes. You can see the full bug list, ordered by component. After using beta, you can return to normal release version by downloading from the Thunderbird website. For additional Thunderbird news, see https://blog.mozilla.org/thunderbird/. Note also that XP and Vista are no longer supported.

Hier habe ich keine Hinweise auf "alte" Fehler gefunden
Alright, I finally worked out what the reporter meant. If you open a message in a stand-alone window and then select "Open in Conversation" from the header pane, nothing happens.

That's already the case in TB 52, so nothing new. I wonder whether we should simply remove the menu item in a stand-alone window. Opinions? Richard? Aceman?

In Daily this should be doable easily through "#ifdef MAIN_WINDOW". TB 60 would probably need hiding through JS.

Let's fix it in Daily at least.

Something like this? I also renamed the locale entities because they where the same as in chat and this had overwritten our menus with "Start a Conversation".

Yes.

Ouch. It's still OK in TB 60, but I see it on trunk on the Message menu of the main window. When did that slip in?

Maybe during the overlay removal.
