From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0rc3) Gecko/20020520 BuildID: 2002052009 In ChatZilla, hitting CTRL-N will not open a new browser window. This works in any other Mozilla window, so it should work in ChatZilla too. It's annoying when somebody on IRC posts a link and you can't open it because you have closed all the browser windows. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open ChatZilla 2. Press CTRL-N to open a new browser window Actual Results: No new browser window appears. Expected Results: A new browser window, please! The workaround, of course, is CTRL-1. But CTRL-1 doesn't open a new browser window if there is already one open.
You could also just click on the link and mozilla will open a new window (if you have no windows open). But I agree ^N would be useful.

Yes, the problem is if you have one or more windows open. In that case, CTRL-1 won't open a new window, and single click will replace the content of one of your windows with the link you just clicked, which is not what you want.
Current versions of ChatZilla let you configure normal-click (and other) link actions, so you can make them all open in a new tab/window if you like. Is this still needed/wanted? I guess it would more use on Firefox, actually, as there's no standard way to open a browser window /without/ using a link.

Bug 76175 is going to (probably) make Ctrl-N open a new ChatZilla window, so this bug is WONTFIX.
