RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 138933

Details

From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.0rc2)
Gecko/20020510
BuildID: 2002051006

When I move the window to the secondary monitor the pull-down menus stay in the
primary monitor.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Mozilla
2.Move to secondary monitor
3.<Alt> f or click on any of the menu panels

Actual Results: The pulldown menus are left in the primary monitor instead of
moving with the window to the secondary monitor.

Expected Results: Should have reacted normally.

This is not a general problem with WinXP and the ATI Radeon 7500 drivers. This
particular problem only happens with Mozilla.
Build ID: 2002052008
OS: Windows 2000
Gfx Card: Matrox G400 w/ two monitors

I do not see this at all. The closest I can get is to have the window split
between two screens and then pull down a file menu, which usually results in the
menu appearing on the second screen rather than being split across screens.

Reporter, do your alert boxes pop up in the center of your primary display or
split between your two displays in the center of your desktop? I think it could
be a difference in how the Radeon drivers handle pop ups.
I should re-clarify my post. When I said its not an issue with WinXP and Radeon
7500 drivers I meant that other programs do not do this not that it would show
up with other graphic cards.

The WinXP drivers for the 7500 create two separate screens that can have
different screen sizes and refresh rates. Further you can choose to have the
screens show the same thing (mirror) or have one as a primary one as a
secondary, in essence tow desktops. You can split a window between the two
desktops but in the case of this problem, I'm not doing that. I'm simply moving
the mozilla window to the secondary monitor and selecting any of the pull-down
menus (File, Edit, View etc... plus the back, forward buttons and the address
bar)and their menus show up in the primary monitor instead doing the normal
thing of showing up directly under the menu.
