Details

about:telemetry provides a way for users to verify what data gets sent to the Mozilla servers. It increases transparency and supports user choice.

Please include the Activity Stream sponsored ads and other telemetry in the main telemetry pings and make it visible in the UI.
Actually, we've been working on making Activity Stream's telemetry available in about:telemetry. If you're on beta/nightly, some of them are already being shown in the "Events" section. We're going to add more pings to there, including the sponsored Pocket ones.

As a workaround, you can also log all the pings generated from Activity Stream. Simply flipping the "browser.ping-centre.log" in about:config, it'll print all the telemetry to the browser console.
I don't think I see any "Events" section in the about:telemetry UI, but that's fine, I suppose. It's good to hear this is being worked on.

And since we're on the topic, please include events for the other network accesses like capturing thumbnails.

Check the "browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.telemetry.ut.events" in about:config, if it's set as true, you should be able to see the "Events" in about:telemetry.

iirc, there is already some thumbnail related metrics in about:telemetry, you can search thumbnail in about:telemetry to see if they're what you're looking for.

Okay, I don't have that section (that config key is enabled by default, I think), but it shows up in a new profile.
