:: Developer Documentation Request Request Type: New Documentation Gecko Version: unspecified Technical Contact: :: Details On the page "POST" (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Methods/POST) is a link to a page "percent encoded" (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/new?slug=percent_encoded&parent=4391). This page should exists to explain what percent encoding is and how its been used in a POST type "application/x-www-form-urlencoded" or the query string of a GET request. A good explanation for "Percent-Encoding" can be found at the resources of the "Internet Engeneering Task Force" (ietf) which defined/updated the standard for URI syntax in January 2005, which is documented in the protocol "Uniform Resource Identifier (URI): Generic Syntax" (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc3986#section-2.4) which also explains how the encoding for "Percent-Encoding" is defined.
This page now has a link to the MDN Glossary entry for percent-encoding (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Glossary/percent-encoding), which in turn has a link to the IETF RFC.
