User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0 Build ID: 20180510003646 Steps to reproduce: I explored the settings of profile page of reps.mozilla.org Actual results: Noticed the gender question has only 2 options male and female. Expected results: The options are inadequate and we should make the gender question more inclusive. This is not the right place for a discussion like that. This component on bugzilla is for implement new stuf or fix bugs on the protal but for this kind of stuff the right place is the repo of the Council that need to approve and review also all the rest of docs/wiki that we have. There is already a ticket about it https://github.com/mozilla/Reps/issues/236 that actually has no interest because we are busy in other things with more high priority.

Daniele, may I respectfully disagree with your last comment ... This is how I read this bug: * Ranjith points out that the current Reps portal has an inappropriate selection of gender identities. * Emma points us to the latest specification from the Diversity team. From my perspective we are good to go with an implementation of the Diversity specification. Am I missing the point here? Best regards, Henrik

No problems on disagree, if you see that GitHub ticket there is already an introduction to change the onboarding form to add more options. The idea is to add more D&I in our process with reviewing that and document any changes that we have to do not only in the portal but also in the rest, also to keep the consistency. Do this changes is not only for onboarding but also in the rest of the portal from profiles to the wiki in various part. So my disagree was only to do it in the portal for onboarding/application/etc without see the rest of stuff that this change require to avoid any issue or misunderstood. We are working on new OKRs for Q2 and there is a point waiting for feedback/approval that involve D&I so maybe is something that the councill will works in the next months.

As we will move towards mozillians.org profiles integration, this will be a topic for mozillians.org itself. @Henrik, any thoughts for that?

Yes, gender pronouns are part of the Mozillians Repositioning project. As such, we upgrade the Mozilla IAM profile to "Profile V2". The latest spec is here. I am linking to the line with the pronoun: https://github.com/mozilla-iam/cis/blob/profilev2/docs/profile_data/profile.schema#L72 Best regards, Henrik

Given that we're gonna move to the Community Portal, I'm not sure if it makes sense to invest time on this until then. However, if you really want to do it now, I'm not gonna stop you :)

Ah! Makes sense! Well I guess the new Community Portal will solve this!
I'll skip :)

As we've moved from reps.mozilla.org to the Community Portal, I'm closing this bug. Filter out these emails by searching for "REPS_PORTAL_BUG_CLOSURE"
