:frank this looks like a partial duplicate of Bug 1473129, where `app_version` was added to core parquet dataset. Two missing parts: * backfill * "normalization" - I'm not sure we can easily do this (CEP doesn't put normalized version in messages) and I'm also not sure we should do this since we already have full version there. What do you think?

I think we can close this as a duplicate of bug 1473129. If we find a need to normalize versions later we can do so.
