User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:59.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/59.0
Build ID: 20180427210249
Steps to reproduce:
Have extensions installed. One that exhibits this behavior is uBlock Origin.
Wait for Firefox to have an update staged (ie, green "Restart to update Firefox" in the hamburger button.
Actual results:
Extensions are disabled until you actually restart.
Expected results:
Extensions should continue to function properly; there's no reason a turn off except to make the user feel bad about delaying a restart.

Hi!
I've tried to reproduce the issue mentioned above but without success.
I've tried upgrading from Release version 59.0.3 Build ID:20180427210249 to release version 60.0.1 Build ID:20180516032328 also using Nightly 62.0a1 from Build ID: 20180529220039 to Build ID: 20180530100110 using the uBlock Origin add on, but every time the upgrade process started the add on kept working as expected until the browser was restarted.
Please try an upgrade to the latest Release version, during that please make a screen recording (you can use this app for screen recording https://www.screenpresso.com/) and if you manage to reproduce the issue please send us the screen recording.
You can also try to reproduce the issue using the latest Nightly (https://nightly.mozilla.org/) as it has more frequent updates (two/day).

I had this happen again just yesterday when, on a different computer, the update for 60.0.1 was ready to go. Extension (ublock) disabled (and wasn't working) and wouldn't re-enable/have options pop up/etc until after I hit "restart" for the browser.
Windows 60.0.1 64-bit currently. Will not again next time I see it happen. I will try to do a recording next time I notice it.

I've tried several more times to reproduce the issue, using several versions of nightly, but without success, as such I'll mark this issue as Resolved/Incomplete.
If you manage to reproduce the issue and take a screen recording also, feel free to reopen the bug with more information.
Thank you for your time.

This happened again today (update to 61.0.1), but only ublock origin failed, while other extensions remained active. It's either a bug in that extension or something for how it works in Firefox. For some reason, Windows Steps Recorder didn't record screenshots with it, so the results weren't useful to report. Next time I'll try full-screen recording.
