Accessing the above page the first time results in loading the text and some pictures. But usually it doesn't load the page fully. It seems to wait for data. Requesting a reload starts downloading the page again and it succeeds always. The problem occurs only on loading the page the first time. The same effect happens with the page http://www.derstandard.at I'm not sure if this problem is related to another thing. If a page blocks as described above all other pages are blocked too. Stopping this page (press stop or reload) allows the other pages to get new data. This happens too when displaying the two web pages but is not always reproducable.
Repüorter: Have you enabled Http Pipelining in the preferences ?
hmm... i'm not able to reproduce this one. matti: does this one fail for you?
win2k build 20020522.. http://www.orf.at = wfm with and without Pipelining http://www.derstandard.at = seems to be complete loaded but Mozilla doesn't stop loading it with and without pipelining. Stop doesn't work (with pipelining). It stops if i reload the page. Clear the cache and you see this again.
from the Reporter: Pipelining doesn't solve the problem. Clearing the cache and loading www.orf.at stops after 2 or 3 pictures. This is reproducable for me. Pipelining seems to solve the problem with www.derstandard.at. Stop doesn't work regardless of pipelineing.
hmm... so it sounds like we've got some sort of interesting bug(s) here.

there are many problems with derstandard.at, I put a dependency on the oldest bug report that the webmaster of the site is following.

I ran this several more times because I was dissatisfied w/ the results. I found that Linux did fail to stop throbbing, and Windows did have strange layout problems where elements would layer on top of each other.

WMF on Windows and Linux Firefox with and without pipelining. Time to close?
confirm comment 11 - tests out fine with pipelining. site now runs iis/6 .. which is not on the blacklist. given no update in 7 years, and no trace of the behavior from that time, the most likely scenario is an upgraded server from 5 or 4 eras which are known to have problems. there is nothing left in this bug that will help us make pipelining better and the original URL now works fine - so closing.
