I've seen on two systems now a noticeably-longer time to get past the early blank window once WebRender is enabled. Both are on Win10 1803. Not sure if this is lag due to having to initialize more on startup or what, but it's a big contributor to my initial impression of the early first paint feature having pretty poor UX.
