This issue is 2 years old. SSL traffic cannot be logged via proxy server and deleting browser history can be tantamount to destroying evidence in some situations involving intellectual property theft. As such, Firefox is not suitable or safe for enterprise environments. Please add this functionality soon. I don't like IE/Edge and don't trust Chrome or Chromium based browsers.
Registry and/or domain/local group policy, please.
In situations where the administrator deems it necessary to use this setting, there should also be a way to disable changing the length of time history is stored.

Is there any update on the status of this bug? My company is highly interested in having GP options available.

It's still on our radar, just other priorities.
