Details

From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0rc3) Gecko/20020523
BuildID: 2002052309

When Mozilla mail client is open and I try and start the Mozilla browser, the
Mozilla Profile Manager displays and when I click Start Mozilla, I get this
error: Mozilla cannot use the profile "default" because it is in use. Please
choose another profile or create a new one.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Mozilla Mail
2.Open Mozilla Browser
3.Click Start Mozilla

Actual Results: see description

Expected Results: opened the browser
Clicking on the Mozilla icon leads to this problem. However, you can open
another window by clicking File/New/Navigator Window. With the older version of
Mozilla, clicking the icon would open a new window. 1.RC3 won't open a new
window by clicking the icon.
This is by design; bug 76431 - if you start mozilla mailnews through a shortcut
with -mail and then start a regular mozilla, that runs as a seperate process,
and isn't allowed to access the profile that's already in use. The same would
happen if you'd run mozilla and then tried to launch a seperate mail process.
Admittedly not an ideal solution, but something had to be done to protect
profiles from being corrupted so much.
