i see this with firefox nightly on osx; chutten reported he also sees it with beta on windows.

Looks like it was some combination of using an ancient version of MetricsGraphics, missing CSS info, or outdated FontAwesome library.
I updated everything (and fixed a few resulting errors) in this PR:
https://github.com/mozilla/telemetry-budget-dashboard/pull/3
And I no longer see those pesky unicode characters.
