On YouTube there is no scene activity if the video progress bar is hidden, but on zdf.de there is as much activity as if it was still shown.

Is this a website bug or something that could be improved?
I can reproduce this. It smells like a website bug but it's worth looking into a bit more. I loaded the page without WR and paintflashing enabled, but I didn't see any flashing while the video was loading, so there's no obvious changes happening on the page.

Although I couldn't find many videos that would play (maybe need a log in, but it's not in a language I can understand), I was able to play video on a couple of pages and confirm that no scene building was occurring, so this seems resolved. Please reopen if not the case with more details on how I can repro.
