Details

(Keywords: crash, stackwanted)

From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS sun4u; en-US; rv:1.0rc3) Gecko/20020524
BuildID: 2002052414

when using the search bar feature on a local address book mozilla crashes
immediately. This doesn't happen if I search on a ldap directory server.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
- I open the address book
- select one of my local address books
- type some string into the search bar (no matter if I use the simple or the
advanced form)

Actual Results: mozilla crashes

Expected Results: list some of the book entries

I haven't noticed this in the versions prior to rc3
Using build 2002052809, Windows XP. No problems here whatsoever.

Hi,
at on WinMe I also had no problems.

Today I am not at work, so I am not really in front of my workstation. However I
tried the following with my remote access ( by means of a Citrix Server/Client):

I created an additional empty address book 'test' ( the three other ones exist
for a long time now).
I type some stuff in the search bar and moz crashes.

Start mozilla again, copy an address card to my new 'test', search for some
substring of that card and succeed.

Now all the other address books work fine, too. :-(

What was wrong?
Normal operations on the address books worked (like scrolling, clicking,
editing). I also checked the prefs.js: the only diff was the new address book.

I will repeat the tests when I am at my office next week ( maybe it's some X or
window manager problem).

Have you any clue? How can I create a stack trace/dump on Solaris8?

Johannes
Hi,

I am sorry: Even working locally in front of my workstation I can no longer
provoke the crash after the changes described above.

So much the better!
