User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:61.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/61.0 Build ID: 20180704194937 Steps to reproduce: A disabled date input with a value (see https://jsfiddle.net/jr9oq2e5/3/ for example). Actual results: The input shows a clear button on Firefox 61. Expected results: Since the input cannot be cleared (except for Bug 1461509), the button should not appear. May be linked to Bug 1465979?

shorlander: Do you have thoughts on this? I found it slightly confusing to see the reset button in the disabled state. (And Emilio points out if we do change this we'd want to change it in the file input too.)

(Maybe not, because other browsers don't, and the file input's button is more prominent, but if Stepen thinks otherwise that's fine for me too)

The bug was fixed some time ago, but especially with the bug 1676068 replacing the Clear button with a Calendar control that kept the logic that this button is not appearing when a field is disabled.
Note that the bug 1811187 added a Clear button to the date picker dialog itself, but it is not available for disabled and readonly inputs. The decision to show the Calendar button for these fields is tracked by 1801910
