For a week or so I have been getting frequent tab crashes in Nightly.
The crashes occurred in several different pages, and I have not found
pages that don't crash (except for pages such as Nightly's
configuration page). The crashes occur within seconds of visiting the
page.

The crashes occur with my well-worn profile but also with a fresh
profile. The crashes do not occur in safe mode, neither with my
well-worn profile nor with the fresh profile.

This is caused by bug 1471704.

I set layers.omtp.enabled to false, and so far no crashes!  FWIW I'm running on a system with 20 cores.

I'm going to close this assuming that the crashes are resolved since bug 1471704 has been backed out. Please reopen this if the crashes continue.
