We should also remove references to the variables defined in comm-confvars.sh and remove that. It was only used for transitioning from comm-topdir to mozilla-topdir.

There's some followup items being worked on in bug 1500718, nothing major. I noticed some dead build code under suite/ earlier that should be cleaned up.
