Steps to reproduce:

The From field may come in a terribly formatted manner, where when replying the same mal-formatted manner is repeated in a Reply to this message.  


Actual results:

Ill formatted characters, quotations, brackets, lastname separated by comma from first name, etc are all repeated into the To field.  This can make it difficult to sort by a Correspondents' name at a later time, and email fields look trashy.


Expected results:

Options to use the preferred display name as chosen in the Contacts Address book would be preferable.  A 2nd option to overwrite the Reply-to field also would be desirable.  These can both be done manually, so there is no reason why this cannot be made a fixed option.

Yes, the address book option "Always prefer display name over message header" doesn't apply to replies.
