There have been multiple behavior changes. 20180827220123 was nearly perfect.

Latest try build largely fixes this bug. The tiny rest might be the usual snapping problem: Sometimes there is a black horizontal and/or vertical line on the text. Depending on the zoom level there can be some white lines at the top of each line.
