Alarms no longer dismiss

Since the August 6 2018 update to Provider for Google Calendar, alarms that pop up do not dismiss. I can close the window using the window controls, but the alarm pops up again. I must delete the event to get rid of the window (bad for my record of past appointments).
Also, In the task pane, I now get a message that says:
Please select a calendar that supports tasks
But I believe that Google Calendar does this.
I am running Thunderbird 60.0b10 (64-bit)

Is this also an issue of not dismissable reminders for events in a local calendar?

Local calendars seem fine. But also I noticed that I cannot do anything to the Google calendar now. For example, changing an event. So it seems to be an issue of not being able to write to the google calendar. I tried several Google calendars and they all do not allow writes.

Thank you. Please enable calendar.debug.log and calendar.debug.log.verbose preferences in TB's preference editor, restart TB and check the error console. There should be messages explaining why you can't get write access.

TB options > Advanced > config editor - copy the pref names in the search box at the top. If they don't exist, create them as bool prefs via context menu. after doing so, please restart TB and reproduce the issue.

I'm somewhat puzzled about this bug, I am not experiencing it. I tried this with tb60, tb60b10, and tb52. Can you check:
* Go to Tools > Addons
* Click on the "More" link where it says Lightning
* Tell me what version is being used
Same thing with the Provider for Google Calendar.

Provider is 4.4.4

You should have 6.2b10 I believe. Can you try these steps? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/calendar-updates-issues-thunderbird#w_when-i-use-my-user-profile-from-a-previous-thunderbird-version-with-a-newer-version-of-thunderbird-lightning-is-not-updated
Where did you get the provider in that version? The latest release is 4.4.1.

Must have been a typo. It is 4.4.1. I cleared that key.
I think it works now.I made a calendar entry correctly.
