We're gearing up to send the next edition of about:addons, Mozilla's newsletter for extension developers, in early September.

In this edition, we'll be talking about updates to extension developer tools, WebExtensions available in Firefox 63, and the timeline for removing legacy extensions from addons.mozilla.org. We might also run some features on community members who have had a positive impact on the ecosystem. 
>> How will success be measured?
Open rate, click through rate, # of unsubscribes. 
>> What is the risk to not doing this?
Developers feeling alienated and uninformed. 
>> What's the timeline for launch?
Currently looking at Sept 5 for a send date.

Jess, any chance we can make some progress on the welcome message up before or around this send date? I'd love to get the subscription drive up and running.

You know... I was going to surprise you with the welcome message this week... :)  (We're trying to sneak it in at the end of this sprint.) Stay tuned!

Do you need any of our help with this AMO newsletter send? (Ie do you know where/how to find these subscribers? Or does that audience still need to be setup for you and shown you where it is?)

OMG amazing! \o/ 

I think we're good on this newsletter send; we're not expecting to do anything out of the ordinary. We are using this report of subscribers with listed add-ons on AMO for our send list: https://mozillasalescloud.lightning.force.com/lightning/r/Report/00O0B000003lH6KUAU/view . I don't think we need to setup the audience again but I could be mistaken! 


If anything does come up, I will let you know ASAP.

I just reviewed the report and added in 1 new filter parameter: Double Opt In = True*.  And all current AMO subscribers have this status, so we're good to go :)

* Context for why I added this parameter:

Now that we (will) have signup forms available to add to this email newsletter list outside of the AMO Dev settings, we've activated the double opt-in process. So we need to make sure that everyone that gets the newsletter has Double Opt In = True (ie - they've confirmed their consent for the newsletter and acknowledged that they have rightful access to that email address).

If someone signs up for this email program within their Firefox Account login - ie in the AMO Dev settings - their double opt-in status will be true upon subscription since they've already had to previously confirm their email address for their Firefox Account.

Note: You don't have to include Double Opt in = True for transactional only emails to AMO Devs. (It does have to be true for marketing/newsletter emails to this subscription.)

Thanks, Jess! That filter makes sense. I'm just not seeing it applied to the report right now -- maybe you or Andrew could tell if it's a view on my end or if the report didn't save with the Double Opt In = True?

The Double Opt in filter was applied but it wasnt added as a column so it wasnt visible. I believe this is what you were looking for. Try the link again plz. Sorry for the delay. I thought this was for a different request! Apologies.
