User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:61.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/61.0
Build ID: 20180704194937
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open PDF file which requires Authentication (e.g. university exercise)
2. "Share Page With" from url bar breadcrumbs
3. Share with any app (Messages and Files tried)
Actual results:
An HTML file is shared with a "401 Authorization Required" message (see attached).
The file name is the same as the original file to be shared, including the .pdf ending
Expected results:
The PDF file should have been shared with the app

I second this bug and am surprised that not more people seem to use this workflow (save PDFs to Files).
PDFs that are generated by websites seem to be the issue. They cannot be saved and will contain the HtML of the previous website.
This works well under Safari.
I would love to see this bug fixed as for me it meant losing some receipts as the PDF could not be saved in any form (including copying and pasting it in Files as some workarounds are suggesting) and the sites did not offer any way of recreating the receipt.
I have been using Firefox as my default browser in iOS. One day this bug will cause me to switch as Safari works fine saving PDFs.
Snark remark: maybe prioritise these functional issues over constant UX redesigns.
