User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:63.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/63.0 Build ID: 20180814220344 Steps to reproduce: Win10x64, 8gb RAM, Intel HD5500 mobile iGPU Use nightly with WR in normal browsing Actual results: Kaspersky increases scanning while opening new tabs, scrolling etc And since WR scrolling is not async enough, pages stutter while scrolling. And it makes profiling WR a mess, because you never know ho much is KIS affecing the samples. Expected results: Make KIS respect WR's authoritah

Can you get a profile of this happening? How many cores do you have in the system in question?

(In reply to Jeff Muizelaar [:jrmuizel] from comment #1) > How many cores do you have in the system in question? It is a 2C/4T mobile intel Broadwell processor. >> Can you get a profile of this happening? This happens all the time, really. Last 2-3 bugs that i filed here are all a symptom of this, I think. This typically happens when new tabs are opened in background, and you scroll in the foreground. Or video is played in the foreground. Could be a interaction between intel drivers, kaspersky, sandboxing .. If I disable KIS, then the inbuilt Windows Defender goes crazy, and starts hogging the CPU. So have to keep KIS enabled. non-WR is also affected, but to a lesses extent. A possible reason that i can think of is because non-WR scrolling appears to be more async. Scrolling nightly generally feels jankier with WR+ Kaspersky. And strangely, if I restart Nightly, Kaspersky sometimes leaves it alone for a while. see also bug 1482600 I have disabled WR on nightlies for now.

I have a SSD, so high disk use hile scanning is not a problem So from what i understand, when KIS will scan a running application, the application will perform slowly. Somewhat like KIS is doing a "synchronous scan", that hampers the application speed.
