Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:61.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/61.0 Build ID: 20180807170231 Steps to reproduce: Hard to say what triggers the problem. Firefox Linux build (tarball downloaded from Mozilla site) is used on Ubuntu 16.04.5 64-bit. Actual results: Sooner or later, Firefox bookmarks stop working: "Add to bookmarks" control doesn't respond, and indicator shows every open page as bookmarked. If Firefox close at this stage, one of its processes remains running and can only be stopped by "kill" command. After restart, Firefox behaves normally. Expected results: Bookmarks control should never stop working.
Hi Konstantin, I was not able to reproduce this issue. Can you give more info on steps to reproduce? How you were trying to bookmark the page. Build ID 20180807170231 User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:61.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/61.0
Component: Untriaged → Bookmarks & History
The issue hit my Firefox installation at least 5 times. I can only provide additional information, when it happens again, in case you suggest me what exactly shall I collect and attach to the bug description. In every case I visit a large number list of sites for a long time, before this happens. Symptoms are the same every time: bookmarking stops to work, and a zombie Firefox process remains after I close the Firefox window.
Hi Konstantin, There's a couple of things you could try to being with: - As soon as it happens, go to Tools -> Web Developer -> Browser Console (not Web Console), and see if there's been error messages appearing that look like they're referencing bookmarks, places, sql or something similar. If there are, please copy and paste them here. - Also, go to about:telemetry and look down the left-hand side for "Slow SQL Statements" (it might not be there, if so just ignore). If there are long running ones, then it might be worth copying the details here. If you also happen to get a second instance of the issue, it might be worth seeing if there's any correlation between the two.
