Now that we're on to a new release, it's probably time to update our gtest setup.

This adds a new script for updating gtest so that updating is easier.
This is a straight run of that script. The stuff that needs review are the
scripts that support the update. That and maybe deciding whether it is a good
idea to update the gtest framework...
