Leave messages on the server preference downloads all mail when you check and 
uncheck this option in the same session or different. It should keep track of 
messages that were checked to leave a copy of the message on the server and 
leave those messages on the server.  Unchecking this option should not delete 
the copies on messages on the server from the previous session.

Steps to repro:
Create a new profile with pop test account
Log into mail. 
At the password prompt dismiss the dialog
Go to accounts and settings and check leave messages on the server option
Click on get message button
At the password prompt login into your mail account
You will receive messages on the server( in my case there were 0)
Compose message 1 and 2.  Send and receive by doing a get message
So you have what ever messages you had earlier + 1 and 2
Go to accounts and settings.  Uncheck leave message option
Compose messages 3 and 4. Send and receive by doing a get message
Messages 3 and 4 downloaded and no copy should be left on the server

Actual: All messages are removed from the server. I would think message 1 and 2 
should have a copy left on the server. Also what ever message you had from 
earlier sessions that you had a copy saved should be on the server. 

Expected: Only 3 and 4 should be removed from the server

I saw the same behavior when you do the above steps in between the sessions. I 
mean you would log off and log in again to uncheck the preference. But gives the 
same results.

nominating this for rtm. Since there might be users who will run into to this 
problem and loose all messages on the server.

This is the expected behavior. I think 4x will also work like this. If you go from
leave_messages_on_server to not leave_messages_on_server all the messages will be
deleted from the server.

I also checked if you go from *not* leave_on_server to leave_on_server, the msgs
downloaded after you did leave_on_server are not removed from the server, as
expected.
