User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/68.0.3440.106 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
Currently on 52.9.1 (32-bit)
Every day I notice hesitation while typing new emails in/editing at some point.
I look at task manager and notice TB using 50%. (100% of one core.)
It does this off and on throughout day. Mainly when I am typing in emails.
Actual results:
50% CPU load on dual-core / 1 core @100%
Causes hesitation typing/arrowing around email. (How I notice it, normally.)
Expected results:
What did I expect?
A CPU relationship that doesn't overload/peg CPU and limit my typing/work.

Please start *Windows'* safe mode with networking enabled
- win10 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode
Still In Windows safe mode, start thunderbird in safe mode
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird
Does problem go away?

This is currently a work machine, so I will have to try this another day. Will update asap.
With that said, it is a new install of Windows.
Previously, I had same mailboxes on Windows 7. (Windows 7 did the same thing, though I do not remember it doing it so often as it does under 10.)
thanks

> Mainly when I am typing in emails.
That's when most users notice it. But the issue isn't with compose itself.
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Testing:Memory_Usage_Problems lists some items to try
Until we have more info from you, this isn't actionable
