Works for me using Thunderbird 60.0b11 (Build ID 20180903185417) with built-in Lightning 6.2 on Windows 10.
Update of built-in extensions is known to not work reliable. Instead of using obsolete Lightning 6.2b6 use the reset preference workaround to get the correct Lightning build shipped with Thunderbird 60.0b11: <https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/calendar-updates-issues-thunderbird#w_lightning-disappears-after-a-thunderbird-update-release-and-beta-versions>
If the problems persist check error console for error messages and disable all extensions except Lightning and retest.
Stefan
Thanks for the advice... still have the problem with the Event dialogue not closing as a "save" or delete, only a TB restart will clear the box and if I open a new event issue is back
Further testing:
I can open edit and close an existing event. Still have issue with New Event
Also, when I open up my "outlook" email box and select "new email" the compose window opens however, no signature and TB then hangs.
If I open up the compose window in another email profile, all normal until I go to change the "From" address to another such as the "outlook" address, then TB hangs again. Only way is to Force Close and reopen.
This is with 60.0b11, b10 is oky with the compose window issue. Still has the New Event issue of not closing
Ok found the real issue was with a specific calendar, when another cal was selected from the drop-down in the dialogue box, the unpopulated "New Event" window can now be closed!
So disabled that cal for the moment, very odd though

What type of calendar is the offending calendar? Was it writable and available when you tried to create the event? Did you have offline support enabled for that calendar?
If you still can reproduce the issue, can you please start TB, open the error console, clear it and then try to reproduce the issue? What messages do you get in the console while doing so?

One more thing: what other addons do you have installed and is this also an issue if you disabled all of them but Lightning?

Not writable, uses the google link - gdata provider 4.4.1 (at the mo) - as do my other calendars. I share with the android mobile so best linkage. Its
googleapi://antony.dellaporta@greenprojectmanagement.org/?calendar=antony.dellaporta%40greenprojectmanagement.org
this is the ofending one, the others have similar api links (of course)
Error when trying to close

No other add-ons at all
So I have disabled the calendar for GPM so that when I select a new event the default for calendar is outlook or d-p-c (main business cal) and this is fine
Oh, NO off-line support

Is this still an issue for you with Thunderbird 60.2.1 and Lightning 6.2.2.1 and Provider for Google 4.4.2?

Hi
For the GPM account - yes there is still an issue as just tested it again. GPM account has been disabled for the moment.
What I just tried was that if I change the calendar a/c from GPM to another, then I can close the window!
When the default is with another account - no issue

Please try re-subscribing the calendar. If Google returns 404 on the event url, is it possible this is a server-side issue or an issue with the account? I'm sorry I couldn't give you a better answer for the moment.
