STR:
- Open a new window.
- All of the images from the highlights all flicker a couple of times.

I haven't tried reproducing this on Windows.

It seems like a recent regression.

When I could reproduce it. I could reproduce it consistently. I can't reproduce it right now.

I can see the flickers on today's m-c.  (https://ungleich.ch/ is a noticable one)
The PR for bug 1481313 reduces the flickers significantly but I can still see some flickers there (it's negligible though).
