Please update both copies of Firefox to version 62. If the problem persists, click the "Attach File" link above the description here (comment 0) and upload the latest error log.

So the old laptop was running on that version. The new one wouldn't quite update all the way through the "about" option, so had to download that manually and add. It didn't work last night (another error message), but did work this afternoon when I tried again.

I'm glad everything is now working for you, but without any of those error logs there's nothing we can do to work out what the initial problem was. Please feel free to reopen this bug if you attach any of those logs (ideally, please upload as many logs as you can in a .zip file - if you just choose one there's a reasonable chance it will just have a benign error)
