User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:61.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/61.0 Build ID: 20180807170231 Steps to reproduce: Set up a Yahoo! account using IMAP. Receive an e-mail that is marked as junk by Yahoo, i.e. an e-mail that contains a hear line starting with "X-YahooFilteredBulk". Mark that e-mail as "not junk" manually by clicking the corresponding button in the message view or the flame icon in the list view. Actual results: The message is marked as "not junk" for a split-second (if I click the flame icon in the list view) or until I view another message (if I click the "not junk" button in the message view). Afterwards the message is immediately marked as junk again. The message is marked as junk even if junk filtering is disabled for this account, even if I put the sender in my whitelist/addressbook, even if I uncheck "Trust junk mail headers set by:", even if I reply to it, even if I click not junk 16 times (I gave up after that, but I would bet you can click indefinitely). From my point of view, there is no way to prevent that message from being marked as junk. Note that I can copy the message to a local folder, mark it as "not junk" manually and it will not be marked as junk again. Expected results: The message marked as "not junk" should stay "not junk" forever. (Ideally, the SPAM filter should also learn to ignore the X-YahooFilteredBulk for future messages like this one, but this is not the main point here.) I am not sure if "X-YahooFilteredBulk" is the only "super-junk-keyword" or if there are others as well, so these issues may be related: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1069428 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1178080 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1321353

I have found that the the Yahoo! junk flagging works on the $Junk $NotJunk IMAP flags. I am able to remove the junk status permanently in Thunderbird by setting the flag $NotJunk directly using IMAP. (a store # +flags $NotJunk)

I can confirm this problem. It happens with Yahoo since quite some time, so it's not something which started recently. Since Verizon now owns both Yahoo and AOL, and AOL is now also using the Yahoo mail system, the problem happens with AOL as well.
