In bug 1440780 I implemented a local action for add-on studies. It doesn't migrate any state from the previous add-on study action though, so any studies the user is currently enrolled in become orphaned and will never unenroll. Additionally, the new action may try and re-enroll the user, which probably causes problems, but I'm not sure.

I guess I wasn't really awake this morning. The storage backend did not change, since both the remote and local versions of the action used AddonStudies.jsm for their storage, and AddonStudies.jsm did not significantly change the way it stored data.
