If I start a new instance of the browser variables like username/password are shared between the instances. There is no difference in behaviour if I start a new instance using the icon in the bottom-task bar or the link in the start menu. I checked the menu option Tools - Password Manager - Manage stored passwords, and no passwords should have been saved... I am just not sure how it is intended to function, but in my way of working I was used to log into the same application using different/separated instances of the same browser... This is prohibited if these variables like username/password are automatically buffered. Win2000 SP2 Build 2002052306.
You cannot run multiple instances on Windows. There's already a bug on this....
-> invalid you can't run different instances on windows and you can't run 2 instances with the same profile.

in fact you can run multiple instances of mozilla on windows, there are now quite a few ways, one is by setting an environment variable, and another is by using multiple workspaces. Whichever you select you should use different profiles for each instance. vrfy invalid: you didn't start a new instance so of course the data was shared.
