Have you ever seen this problem without suspend&resume - just by leaving the browser opened for a long time?

I don't use the machine very often, so it is hard for me to tell. When it was used previously, my family member (who used it) tells me that it would happen during active usage, not just on suspend/resume.

Given the symptoms, I suspect we fixed aspects of this in 86, 87 or 88. Are you still able to reproduce with the latest nightly?

This remains an issue with the latest Nightly.
It should have been fixed for GLX: Does this still occur with gfx.x11-egl.force-disabled=true?
(EGL = bug 1731172)

Could it be bug 1729779 comment 42 on Linux?
Does this problem also occur with
a) layers.gpu-process.enabled=true (bug 1729779 comment 51, bug 1653444)
b) gfx.webrender.software=true
c) gfx.webrender.software=true gfx.webrender.software.opengl=true
d) gfx.webrender.software=true layers.gpu-process.enabled=true layers.gpu-process.allow-software=true
?
