+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1480854 +++

Follow-up for the problem with the actual adaptive icons on Android O and above (on older Android versions we're reverting to the previous icons).
Based on bug 1480854 comment 33 and bug 1480854 comment 34, there's no good solution.
