1492923 - Firefox browser's three buttons on the top left side doesn't load

Steps to reproduce:

I start Firefox browser as my daily driver everyday on my MacBookPro.


Actual results:

The browser's left three buttons "close-x, minimize -, maximize " buttons are not loading in the default mode.
It just freezes. Nothing works. Only thing that is active is to close the tab. I can close the browser only because the initial tab's 'x' symbol is active and nothing works. This happened atleast once with Firefox 62 on all of colleague's macbooks. Please refer the images for the visual.


Expected results:

The browser's buttons should have opened in its default setting mode.

Is there anything special about the system or its configuration where this occurs?

Hi Stephen,

Nothing special actually. No addons and extensions in the browser.
My OS is MacOs High Sierra v10.13.6. I also tried reinstalling but even that results in the same problem.

Could you try creating a new profile[1] and report back if the issue is still occurring?

I deleted the profiles.ini file from the 'firefox' dir and the browser started working as a new one.
But there was no such activity related to 'profiles' to sync the user profile on my browser. Is this some kind of a bug or something that you suspect for such kind of browser freeze issues ?

Back to Firefox from Brave now.

Thanks for reporting back and I'm glad I was able to help. I haven't heard of this issue before and I wouldn't know if this has to do with sync. Do you still have your old profiles.ini? If so, you could post it as an attachment to this bug and we could take a look.
