User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.13; rv:62.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/62.0 Build ID: 20180920131237 Steps to reproduce: I have two different macbook pros (2017) and Firefox crashes very often when switching displays. This happens on both Macbooks. If I use my laptop for a while and then later attach an external display and close the lid (to use the laptop as a desktop in clamshell mode) Firefox will crash 4/5 times. Since I'm constantly disconnecting/reconnecting my display when I leave/come back to my desk, I see many crashes a day. So basically, to reproduce, I simply attach an external display. Firefox crashes immediately. I have since taken my laptop into the Apple store and they have run their extensive tests twice and it passed. I also reinstalled macOS from an empty drive. Since two macbooks have the same issue, hardware issues are unlikely but I wanted to be sure. Actual results: When I connect an external display, Firefox will often crash with all Firefox windows gone, replaced by a crash report screen. I see the following text, for example, in one of these reports: AdapterVendorID: 0x1002, AdapterDeviceID: 0x67efFP(D00-L1000-W00000000-T000) WR? WR- OMTP? OMTP+3 GL Layers? GL Context? GL Context+ GL Layers+ Expected results: Firefox should not crash when attaching or removing an external display. This same issue also happens on Thunderbird as well. No other apps are impacted.

I am going to be closing this as a duplicate. I found the following bug report just now that seems like it fits my issue: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1201401 I apologize for not finding that bug report earlier.
