Spin-off from bug 1457747. I noticed that Socorro got(?) real graphics adapter names here: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/signature/?signature=mozilla%3A%3Alayers%3A%3ADIGroup%3A%3APaintItemRange But there are still many unnamed ones. Like 0x1b82 which would be GP104 [GeForce GTX 1070 Ti]. For example, why isn't Nvidia mentioned for all 0x10de entries? https://pci-ids.ucw.cz/read/PC/10de https://pci-ids.ucw.cz/read/PC/8086 https://pci-ids.ucw.cz/read/PC/1002
To answer your question "why are there unnamed ones? why isn't the data updated?", no one was updating it. I've never seen anyone offer to update it or ask for it to be updated or anything. So I don't think anyone cared. I can update it now with a pci.ids snapshot.

It wasn't meant that hard. I wouldn't have expected that the term "Nvidia" is stored per adapter (as it might be right now), but instead only once, e.g. directly in the source code.
I grabbed the latest pic.ids snapshot and updated the stage and prod systems. The signature report example lists names for all the vendors and adapters now. I think we're good to go here! Let me know if I did something wrong or missed something. Thank you!
