Details

Bug 1400256 added the WebElement representation for Marionette in Firefox 58. Now it should be time to make use of it in geckodriver.

I would suggest we target this bug for the over next 0.24.0 release, because it would bump the minimum supported Firefox release from 57 to 58.
Priority: -- → P2

We want to release a new version of geckodriver and this bug doesn't look like that important for the 0.24 release. Lets move it to 0.25.

This is related to internal code and how geckodriver communicates with Marionette. As long as we don't want to force the usage of the WebElement abstraction I don't see a need to get this added to geckodriver soon.
